Fleet Foxes debut jesus hair and new video

What Fleet Foxes lacks in music video concepts is quickly made up in their songwriting. This song rocks and how cool is it they got Jesus to sing in the video?!

Look Who’s Back

Muxtape.com, our friend who gave us awesome digital mixtapes yet was shut down by the RIAA will relaunch again as a service for bands. Kudos to Justin for walking away from licensing deals and creating something simple and beautiful for people who love music. The new format will include a ton of slick features that should make any artist’s life that much easier.

Reinventing the wheel

Tijuana artist Jorge Tellaeche stole the show at Sanctuary 143’s bike-art exhibition on Saturday night in Barrio Logan. The concrete walls, high ceilings and open beams of The Logan provided the perfect backdrop for showing off art and mixed media. I look forward to more creative use of this excellent space that neighbors the mighty Miriello Grafico. Oh, and I took some snaps and posted them here.

Vintage advertising

Well Medicated has posted their 50 favorite print advertisements from the 1950s and 60s. There are some serious gems in here.  I think my favorites have to be Ronrico of Puerto Rico, Smirnoff with Woody Allen, housewives that “need” a kitchen phone with an extension cord and without a doubt the Ron Burgandy-esque Burton “Cool Suit”.  Classic!

Koolhaas living

Immerse yourself in the world of contemporary architect Rem Koolhaas. After winning Time Magazine’s Best Design for 1998, filmmakers put together this DVD  to showcase the unusual and unpredictable look at the spaces and structure of Rem’s House in Bordeaux. It’s totally whacked yet normal.  Does that make sense? Click the image to view trailer.
