It’s true, yellow and white work well together

Pleats-Pleats is a sofa designed by Imaginary Office and I want one. Clothed polyurethane foam is woven around a white powder coated steel pipe frame. More pics at the slick  Today & Tomorrow.

Maybe I’m spending too much of my time starting up clubs and putting on plays. I should probably be trying harder to score chicks

Max Fischer: So tell me Curly, how do you know Miss Cross?
Dr. Peter Flynn: We went to Harvard together.
Max Fischer: Oh that’s great. I wrote a hit play and directed it, so I’m not sweating it either.

There’s no denying Rushmore is one of my favorite movies of all time. There are so many classic  lines but I wanna know which ones you like best. Leave em in the comments section and you might win a cool prize from HM.

A Challenge From The Decemberists

The Decemberists have a poster contest for fans to design the official artwork on display at their SXSW Austin show promoting their new album Hazards of Love. The winning entry will be selected by the band themselves. What a great way to create buzz for the album and give some amazing exposure to the winning artist.

Do-Tell: Paul Fischer, Better Looking Records

We’re starting up a new series today called Do-Tell. It’s a simple concept that compliments everything we’re all about, promoting creativity. We’ve asked several people that we’re totally smitten over to tell us two things they’re totally jazzed about and why. First up is record label guru Paul “Opie” Fischer. Paul’s one of the few people I’ve met that actually loves LA. He’s a master at licensing indie music to TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy, CSI, The OC…and still has time to DJ and geek out on Asian pop culture. Here are Paul’s two Do-Tells:

  1. Huck Gee’s insanely collectible handmade custom toys. He produces illustrations and custom figures and has released production toys through Kidrobot including figures for The Standard and DJ Qbert.
  2. Miniature mid-century design chairs - the fiance got me Volume 3 for Vday…she’s a keeper!!

Seth Godin brings the smackdown on making radical changes in your life

“In down economies, the only thing that’s going to change things is changing things. If you’re not happy with what you’ve got, what radical changes are you willing to make to change what you’re getting? In my experience, not much. But that doesn’t mean you can’t start now.” - Seth Godin
