Did We Mention Philanthropy Wednesday Night?

Have we told you how much it would mean to us if you made it out to our Cause For Drinks event Wendesday night at Starlite? A lot, but it will mean even more to the kids you’ll be helping. That’s right, 10% of bar sales will benefit UNICEF’s Tap Project, which provides clean drinking water for children (just $1 provides a child with drinking water for 40 days). And if you haven’t been, Starlite is the tits.

Whoever said today’s youth is lazy never met Neil Krug

Welcome to the slash slash world of Neil Krug. This 25-year old has a photo book coming out next month, a feature film in post-production and  already two prominent music videos under his belt. Damn, I’m impressed! Check out the mini-interview and more images on Fecal Face.

Well I was born in a small town

Me In America started out as an artistic exercise but ended up completely changing the way William Lamson approaches photography. The series consists of images in which he is either performing an activity dictated in part by the location, or attempting to become part of the scene by assuming an inanimate form. The series was shot in ’04 yet still fresh in ’09.

Unplugged Sezio Style

Our pals at Sezio love local music and to prove it they’re hosting five nights of San Diego’s most promising at the swank downtown Luce Loft. The pre-sale is over but email Sezio for guest-list options and experience what all the kids will surely be talking about soon enough.

Ramit teaches us to be rich

I Will Teach You To Be Rich is a personal finance book written by entrepreneur and Stanford grad Ramit Sethi. While I find most everything personal finance related a complete snooze, this book has some great ideas about how to save money that aren’t just extreme frugality tips and actually save time – something that we all need for our own creative pursuits. Best part is it’s all done in a witty, conversational tone that speaks to me.
