Getting high off Amsterdam Modern

If cool furniture and household goodies is your thing, you’re going to love Amsterdam Modern. It’s a pop-up shop in Los Angeles whose inventory is shipped directly from Amsterdam. Here’s a desk that I’m drooling over right now and available at Space15Twenty.

This is a bullshit free zone!

This Is A Bullshit Free Zone is the first in a series of fold-out newsprint posters by UK’s SellSell. Put it up where you work to discourage bullshitters and bullshittification. When someone bullshits you – just lean back in your chair and silently point to this poster. Doesn’t get much better than this. Seriously, no bullshit.

Monkeys take over in new Bloc Party music video

When I was a kid I begged my parents for a pet monkey. But after seeing this new video for Bloc Party’s new single ‘Mercury’ (out August 11th), I’m glad they never abliged. By the way, nice shoutout to Williamsburg.

Every pair of shades needs a home

Mighty impressed with Freitag’s new sunglasses sleeve. Cut from used truck tarps. Bike messengers should dig this. [via highsnobiety]

Bookworms never go to bed alone

In Bookworms Never Go to Bed Alone at Gorker Gallery, artist and photographer Kelly Thompson presents mixed-media works that illustrate the kind of geeky girls every guy—even the quarterback—dreams of. There’s no denying geeks are hot and chances are if you’re lucky you might get to go home with one from this show. [via UO]

Always makin’ stuff

Dylan has a friend who just modeled for our artist series tee shirts. Turns out she’s quite the artist herself and on her way to New York City for Parsons School of Design. We’re wishing you the best, Leah!

A thriller of photographic goodness

Is it too soon to make fun of Michael Jackson? Regardless, I’m blown away by photographer Scarlett Hooft Graafland. She lives and works between Amsterdam and New York and my god, her work is gorgeous. [via colectiva]

Homework Show #2: Zine Swap

I’m all finished with my zine for this Saturday’s Homework Show in North Park. Inspiration comes from my nephew, Otis. The little guy is three months old and lives with his Mom in San Francisco. I made a zine for him the size of a coloring book and added witty bits of advice that’ll hopefully make him laugh, dream or smile. The Homework Show is a massive zine swap from a large variety of artists and designers. Entry is RSVP only and will also be a potluck so bring some food or drinks to share. The fun kicks off this Saturday, June 27th 7-11PM @ Point of Departure. Come say hi!
