Always makin’ stuff

Dylan has a friend who just modeled for our artist series tee shirts. Turns out she’s quite the artist herself and on her way to New York City for Parsons School of Design. We’re wishing you the best, Leah!

A thriller of photographic goodness

Is it too soon to make fun of Michael Jackson? Regardless, I’m blown away by photographer Scarlett Hooft Graafland. She lives and works between Amsterdam and New York and my god, her work is gorgeous. [via colectiva]

Homework Show #2: Zine Swap

I’m all finished with my zine for this Saturday’s Homework Show in North Park. Inspiration comes from my nephew, Otis. The little guy is three months old and lives with his Mom in San Francisco. I made a zine for him the size of a coloring book and added witty bits of advice that’ll hopefully make him laugh, dream or smile. The Homework Show is a massive zine swap from a large variety of artists and designers. Entry is RSVP only and will also be a potluck so bring some food or drinks to share. The fun kicks off this Saturday, June 27th 7-11PM @ Point of Departure. Come say hi!

Help your bladder enjoy going to the movies

I was seeing Away We Go last week when my friend Sarina mentioned this great, new app that tells the best time to pee during your favorite movies. It’s called RunPee and this way you not only know when to go but can also find out what you’ll be missing. This is genius and never again will I have to hear, “what did I miss?”

Advocacy + architecture = High Line

July 4th in NYC has been tradition for as long as I can remember. Added bonus this year will be checking out the recently opened High Line, a 1.5 mile elevated rail line that’s been converted to a public park. It’s the culmination of ten years of advocacy, planning and construction but High Line is now open and I’m super pumped to check it out.

Etnies new spot rips with great soundtrack

Skate filmmakers are becoming more impressive by the day. Especially ones that gravitate toward indie soundtracks. Here’s the latest from Etnies which features music by the awesome Goddamn Electric Bill.
