What’s on your walls?

Remember college? Band posters covering your dorm room wall to profess your musical tastes? I still have band posters in my room, although I have since removed the swimsuit model posters that impressed no one. Recently, I came across The Small Stakes event and music posters. What I like about these are their sharp, minimalistic designs that actually look pretty classy. I gotta have at least one of these.

Who doesn’t love office supplies?

Design fiends get your wallets ready, because here comes a company I like to call Muji 2.0: Askul. Hailing from the far east, Askul seems to have their hands in all sorts of things now, designing everything from batteries to garbage bags and all that lies between. Oh, and if you’re going to be in Tokyo anytime soon then you should stop by the Design Tide trade show in the Tokyo Midtown Hall.

Treasure Island Music Festival – Day 2

I’m still recovering from a cold I snagged this weekend, but the trip to Treasure Island was entirely worth it. Chilly and windy weather suited the day’s music and I’m still in awe that I got to see Grizzly Bear, Beirut, The Decemberists, Yo La Tengo, and The Flaming Lips consecutively. The festival was well-organized and so San Francisco with its separate trash-recycling-compost bins and solar panels. I wrote down several memorable quotes from artists this year, but my favorite had to be Wayne Coyne closing out the night by saying, “It was freezing earlier, but that doesn’t even matter anymore. That’s the fucking power of enthusiasm!” I really recommend this event for indie music lovers so mark it on your 2010 planner and be sure to put a little cash aside for the occasion. Since this year was a sellout, I’m thinking next year’s lineup will be equally as impressive. Check out the photos here.

A rad t-shirt for $6.99, seriously.

You Work For Them remind me of a band that’s tired of playing the same songs over and over. They’re craving the fresh, new material so it’s time to push out stock with a sale that can only be described as stupid awesome. For instance, this $6.99 for this shirt. I mean, seriously, who isn’t afraid to wear orange?

RVCA Clearance Sale

The good folks at RVCA are clearing out inventory and to make room for new lines they’re throwing a 3-day clearance sale. Lots of items marked down. Only problem, it’s still pretty expensive. C’mon guys, I love your stuff but these prices, really?
