Today’s the day! We’re celebrating the official release of our first book I Swear To Good You Are God At This and I’m more excited than when I first got Sega Genesis (that means a lot). While this is a huge day for us, it’s about celebrating the creative community and all the people that motivate, inspire and provoke us to make awesome. In fact, many of you will be there. Tonight will feature a live performance from Joel P West, DJ Brother Darkness, art installations from Sezio, interactive photography, creative presentations, the world premiere of Good Neighbor’s next comedy short, and more. Don’t be fashionably late to this one as the first 100 guests will receive gift bags filled with creative inspiration.

Shit, a substitute for tp? Not quite, but a Japanese company has taken green to new level with a machine that recycles office paper into toilet paper. It’s apparently capable of turning 40 sheets into a roll at a cost of 11 cents. Given the price tag ($100K) and lofty break even point, we probably won’t be seeing this right away, but it would be funny to know your boss, or at least his printed PowerPoint slideset is kissing your ass. Regardless, it’s great to see that someone is trying to conserve our resources and we all know things get more efficient eventually.

I’ve sat on this for a while to make sure I wasn’t unnecessarily hyping it because I love Community, but I think Donald Glover’s I Am Just A Rapper mixes are dope. Going by the handle of Childish Gambino, he gets some instant indie cred with me by using tracks from Grizzly Bear, Discovery, Neon Indian, Yeasayer, and Washed Out. But it’s the witty pop culture references that include Crystal Pepsi, The Simpsons, and Inspector Gadget that make the collections so fun to listen to. Troy, excuse me, Childish Gambino has 2 volumes right now, but I’m hoping he keeps going on this little project of his. You can download them both here.

Given the upcoming release of our book I Swear to Good You Are God At This, we’ve been on the lookout for other great design literature and have stumbled upon designer Cody Hudson’s book Thanks For Nothing. 30 pages of incredible design and great inspiration make this book a must have for any creative mind.

I was browsing the internet using StumbleUpon and I discovered this awesome free program called MousePath. It’s a program that records your mouse cursor’s pathways, which turn out to be very fascinating to stare at. I downloaded it the other night directly from this link and I plan on using it when ever I have long jobs to do on the computer. I’m definitely a t-shirt and jeans guy but every now and then you gotta step it up and throw on a tie. Thankfully, 3sixteen dropped 3 brand new ties that’ll keep your style points in check. Steve Powers’ latest project A Love Letter for You really brings murals into the modern age of clean design and vector drawing. Basically the premise is 50 murals covering 20 blocks around Market street in Philadelphia, all centered around the theme of a love letter to and from West Philadelphia. Now comes the best part, you don’t have to fly to Pennsylvania to see it because the whole process has been put into a book. Check out Cool Hunting for more pics and info.
