A local San Diego shop that is as cool as its name might suggest

It’s rare that a great shop like the Igloo Store is based in San Diego! It’s located in Little Italy and the guy who runs this place, Gary Benzel, also does a lot of collaborative work with HunterGatherer (including the Incase woodgrain laptop sleeve you see below). My favorite products are these letterpress cards. A sad circle is a square, indeed.

Student advice posters

Advice to Sink in Slowly asks designers and illustrators to pass on a concise bit of advice for first year designers- which are then given in poster form to the incoming class at participating colleges. What a great project and here’s how Portland’s Always With Honor delivered.

Quit dordling and get back to work

Nik Daum makes dordles – illustrations that aren’t quite drawings or doodles. Many are clever and some are complete wtf moments to look at, but that’s just what I like about them. Browsing through his collection you really don’t know what you’re going to get. Nik uses a combination of analog and digital tools and many of the pieces are secretly drawn at work. Just don’t tell his boss.

Cardboard backflips and b-boy kicks

White leather, blue tips and the trademark swoosh. Nike wants you to bust out some cardboard and let loose those backflips with these b-boy bad boys. I’m gonna have to go home and re-watch Graffiti Rock tonight. More great pics on High Snobiety.

Burning seed matchbox by Jack Spade

Jack Spade makes a lot of things – bags, books, briefcases and ties. But often overlooked are his small accessories. I’m not suggesting you run out and buy this but if you’re loaded and living life like the most interesting man in the world, then a classy matchbox might be your thing. It’s slide opening and comes with a badass self-lighting strip. $60 direct from Jack himself.

The XX seductive new music video

Hello sexy, seductive indietronic jam. I think I like you. In fact, I think I like you like you. Four 19-year olds from south west London who go under the moniker XX. Damn this goes down smooth.

Wooden bird coat hanger

When normal coat hangers just aren’t enough, thankfully, there’s the wooden bird coat hanger. Black painted wood shaped like a bird in flight with wire hook at the top. Available here.
