Outsmart bicycle bandits.

Nothing hurts more than a stolen bike, and German startupĀ MyBikeNumber exists to make your wheels a little safer. It’s a free online service that lets you register your cycle and its parts in a worldwide database. After signing up, users can quickly print customĀ QR Codes for different components, and add photos of their beloved bicycle to a personalized profile. Cyclists can even search the site to confirm that the sketchy suspension fork they’ve been eying on Craigslist wasn’t yoinked from someone else’s ride. It’s nice to know someone’s looking out for the critical mass.

Regardless of what service one chooses to use to register one’s bike, it is of the utmost importance to TAG it in multiple places, as shown at http://www.bikeregistry.com/install.php .

If nicked the perp will almost certainly strip away all the stickers he can easily see. The one he misses will be his undoing…..
