Wants and Needs by Erin Hanson

Simple and to the point, I’m loving Erin Hanson’s “Wants and Needs” series. It’s so true, “Want too many things, need to want less.” Found this gem on Mm, check out the entire series here.

An acoustic performance and a quartet of strings, these are a few of my favorite things!

Would you rather spend $10 on your mini mart impulse buys or a concert? This Friday, April 30th we’ll be hosting an intimate concert at MCSAD in La Jolla featuring Joel P West and The Tree Ring! The performance will include new songs, some rearranged classics, some fine string playing, and a set design by some local artists. Thanks, Ford Motor Co, for letting us spend more of your cash for this event! RSVP here to get your hands on an unreleased mp3 from Joel P West and The Tree Ring and purchase tickets! If you want, you can view the original newsletter here.

Glamour Shots that make Napoleon Dynamite proud.

My awesome friend Megan turned me on to Poolga, an entire site of free wallpapers for your iPhone, iPad and yes, even some for you Crackberry turds. I was about to download this sweet Glamour Paws wallpaper when I noticed a link to….goldmine! Yes, that’s right people, an entire site of glamour shots. And you know what’s funnier than glamour shots? Nothing.

Maybe I’m spending too much of my time starting up clubs and putting on plays.

Oh Rushmore, you’re still one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s super fun to look back at the trailer. Max Fischer, you’re my hero.

Sexy-time with photographer Paul Barbera

We’ve never published nudity on HM before but Paul Barbera’s “Love Lost” photos are so incredibly beautiful, we couldn’t resist. He captures that moment we’ve all had and will probably go through again. As if I didn’t have to tell you, you’re gonna want to see more on BeginBeing.

A collection of dice never looked so good.

Lisa Congdon is an artist and illustrator who publishes one of my favorite blogs, A Collection A Day. On day 114, she posted a great set of dice. Instant nostalgia kicked in. Do yourself a favor and bookmark her site, like right now!

Air Guitar Regional Championships Tonight!

America has an imaginary axe to grind. Last year, a Frenchman took the Air Guitar Championships. So this time around, like Tiger Woods, we’re hittin’ it hard. You see, Air Guitar never goes out of style. In fact, it’s selling out coast to coast. Tonight, San Diego shreds the regional championships and I, for one, will be there to see who’ll be representin’ the stars and stripes. Bring your axe and get down to the Casbah for one of the best nights of your life.
