The Pantone Hotel (…I don’t need to say anything more)

If there’s any hotel in the world I’d love to stay in, it’s the Pantone Hotel! Pantone opened it in Brussels and it’s everything you’d expect (and more) from a hotel based on the popular color matching system. Designers Michel Penneman and Oliver Hannaert were the masterminds behind the hotel’s colorful style set against a clean, white canvas. When you book a room, you can choose which single-color scheme you’d like the bedroom to have. There’s even a lounge, a place for meetings, a display of Pantone-themed products (including bicycles), and more. The hotel itself seems to be a trip experience in itself!

Fiesta + Roxy + Tocayo

Our 3rd assignment from Ford was to connect with pro-athletes Kassia Meador and Jen Smith and then design an apparel line for Roxy.  Seeing as Jen lives just a few blocks away, we figured it’d be fun to throw her in the Fiesta and follow around a long-board world champion for a day. Our buddy Charles Bergquist shot and edited this video and Cuban-born illustrator Tocayo helped carry out our vision for the design. Three days and several Tecates later, we spent the rest of Ford’s budget on celebrating this collaboration with tacos, tequila and cold cervezas. It was a true Fiesta and photographer Carly Ealey captured all the glory here.

My new vacation spot for mid-century modern heaven

Martini, sun, poolside and not thinking about work. Yes, mini vacations are a serious part of the new creative’s ethos and Palm Springs is definitely the spot. Sure, there’s The Parker to say you saw Chelsea Handler get wasted, or The Ace Hotel & Swim Club where swimming in tight jeans is totally encouraged, but if you’re looking for a Mad Men, 1950’s mid-century modern flashback of style meets substance, look no further than Orbit In. The family-owned retro hotel boasts 9 rooms, a pool, jacuzzi, lush mountain views, complimentary happy hour, cruiser bikes, private patios and designer furnishings that’ll make it tough to decide if you should tell everyone about this amazing gem or keep it all to yourself. It’s a good problem to have and when you go, ask about their sister location, The Hideaway, which reminded me of all the vintage furniture my grandmother used to own but never realized how cool she had it. Yup, this place rules, did I mention it’s 21+ and they don’t allow pets? I think I just found my new favorite getaway spot.

iPhone App Magnets

There’s an app for that and now there’s a magnet for it too. App Magnets come in sets of 18 for $16. I might just buy this for my Droid friends. Just to rub it in. [via bltd]

A pair of Nikes that never go out of style

Nike Sportswear dropped these ultra-clean Post Match kicks as part of their Spring 2010 footwear line. I don’t know about you but I can’t think of a single thing these wouldn’t go with. Get your smooth, vintage throw-backs here.
