For no other reason than this is damn cute.

A cat and a baby walk into a bar. The baby orders a Pimm’s Cup with extra mint, turns to the cat and says… [you finish in the comments].

Here’s why I’ll soon be wearing a watch again.

Albeit a silly name, the I’m Watch is a touchscreen wristwatch that syncs via bluetooth to iPhone and android devices. Updates from the phone are fed directly onto the screen, permitting full functionality of  facebook, twitter, e-mail, text messages, photos and even making and receiving phone calls via a built-in speakerphone. Pretty slick. Pre-orders going on now with shipping estimated for October. More images on DesignBoom.

Holiday Matinee’s Outside Lands Mixtape!

Who’s going to Outside Lands this weekend? With half of the HM crew in the Bay this weekend to get our summer music festival fix, we thought we’d drop a quick mix of some of the artists we’re looking forward to seeing. While there’s always some choices and compromises to be made (it’s killing me that Toro Y Moi and Foster The People are playing 10 minutes apart on a 3-day festival) this is still going to be a great time. Hit us up if you’ll be there. We’ll hang!

This video will make you hungry for adventure.

Back in October, I wrote about this awesome video that portrayed a trip overseas. When my brother, who’s currently living in London (I’m trying maintain my levels of jealousy…), sent me to Rick Mereki’s Vimeo page this morning, I was flooded with the same feeling I had in October: the yearning to travel, explore, and taste the world. Well, right now I’ll just have to live vicariously through Rick’s gorgeous videos of his time spent with friends abroad.

It’s about loving what you do and building something you believe in.

“Open minds. Dirty hands. Full hearts.” That’s the super awesome motto of Ptarmak, an Austin based creative shop that I’ve become smitten with of late. There’s plenty of great thinkers and designers in the world but only a select few whose genuine passion shows in their work. Ptarmak are one of the few and I had the pleasure of offering them an opportunity to takeover Etsy’s Twitter background. It’s a monthly project I started when I moved to New York called Etsy’s Twitter Artist Series. The design is super fresh and currently being offered as a free mobile and desktop download. Have a look here.

Have you seen this bird?

It isn’t often I see something so simple and clever that I feel compelled to share with everyone I know. And while some might think it doesn’t take much, it’s the little things in life, the ones that, no matter how shitty of a day you’re having, you walk by and notice a street-art poster like this and it brings a smile to your face. Long live the little, awesome things!

A skate deck art show in San Diego for one night only

Over sixty artists came together for Eighth Ply 2011 to create exciting skate deck art that will be displayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego for one night only and Magic in Las Vegas for three days. We Love Creativity, Sk8ology, and DJhere Productions are also letting guests at the San Diego show treat themselves to a one-hour hosted bar as long as they’re on the guest list, which is located here. If you’re curious to see who’s going, there is the Facebook event page, of course! (Note: Contrary to what the flyer says below, the decks won’t be on display at the Crossroads Retail Show.)
