You know we’re Wes Anderson fans, but he’s not the only guy with that name that has something new to share. Our pal Wes Bruce just told us about a new project he’s working on that immediately got me excited. After all, the guy’s been known to build forts and an amazing set for Sezio’s Four Day Weekend.

So you can imagine my delight when I learned he was continuing in his tradition of building structures AND paying homage to real, physical mail. Structures Poetry Humans is his visual arts project that explores the relationships we humans have with the structures around us. For every day of 2012, the project will add fresh content to the website in the form of photography, illustration, poetry, music, short films and more. But where I think it really gets interesting is that Wes is encouraging people all over the world to send him mail sharing their stories, pictures and artifacts on the topic.

Wes will be taking a look at everything sent in and using those findings to create a structure at the Lux Art Institute in Encinitas, CA. He’ll invites anyone to explore it later this year. We couldn’t be happier the San Diego Foundation and Lux chose to support our friend’s curiosity, so what would make us stoked is if all of you participated by sending in a piece of mail, no matter where you hail from.
