The Unbearable Lightness of Floating
I’m really digging this photography series Floating by Chinese experimental artist Zhao Huasen. It shows people in China riding around on what appears to be invisible bicycles. Zhao proves that while photo manipulations may be “old news”, a fresh idea like digitally erasing an integral part of the image will create an intriguing visual. There’s pure magic in the simplicity of it. And I’m sure we can all agree that levitating on the shadow of a bicycle is way more hardcore than riding a fixie. I guess this proves Lance Armstrong right – since he did once say “It’s not about the bike.” You can check his work, including the entire series, over on Feizi Gallery.
