Mandatory I Love You Day is coming up fast, but I wanted to share some rad posters by 3 Fish Studios in case you want to proclaim your love for your favorite state (if it’s California or Oregon). This is just a small sampling of prints I dig in their store from video game controllers, to street signs and food trucks. And if you happen to be local to SF, these guys offer Linocut Printmaking Classes where you can turn your favorite images into prints. How can you say no to DIY?

My love affair with burritos began in college after discovering Anna’s and Felipe’s in Boston. It was convenient, inexpensive and downright delectable. Not surprisingly, it led to me moving to San Diego (well, part of the reason anyways). And although SD can’t really be beat, SF burritos are nothing to scoff at either. Today though, Photojojo has taken burrito culture to the next level with the Photorito Lens Wrap, a protective cover for your lens that looks like a tortilla. Sure, I work for these guys, but this product is too rad not to make a huge fuss over.

There are times where I love using my phone and others where it’s painfully irritating, but checking concert listings on the free Bandsintown iPhone app has been great. A few things to love about this one? Pretty exhaustive listings of all local gigs on any night in your city, recommended shows based on your favorite bands and good-looking, clean design. There are those complaining about needing a Facebook account to join the fun and while it’s a valid point, this is an early version and I have no doubt it’s going to improve. Thanks Todd, Phil, Alexis and crew! You just made it much easier for me to never miss a band I’m into.

NBA Draft fashion has always been a mild obsession of mine, but BuzzFeed’s list of the 25 Worst Haircuts in Sports History is also prettay, prettay good. Any ‘dos they’ve left out that you would have included? Adam Morrison in the midst of shaving of his head comes to mind for me.

The iPhone is supposed to be your gateway to the outside world and make just about anything possible, but it can have some nasty side effects if you’re not careful. The Truth Hurts wallpaper series by Nico Ordozgoiti makes me both laugh and cringe so perhaps that’s what makes it so good.

Life is better when it’s slowed down

I’m certain I’d be a fan of our buddy Charles Bergquist’s work even if I didn’t know the guy, but since I do, I can tell you the director, designer and photographer’s work is something to be admired. His 2011 High Speed Reel was just an experimental/fun project over the summer, but as I’ve come to expect, anything he touches ends up looking amazing. In case you’re wondering about the tools behind this, it was shot using the Olympus iSpeed 3 from Jordy.com.

Honor thy best shots

Instagram has become my favorite social network because it feels light, yet delivers a richness (and radness) that makes sharing worthwhile. And although those photos look pretty on a hi-res screen, I’m still a believer that our best shots deserve a more permanent existence in the form of print. There’s more than one iPhone to print app out there, but I like what PostalPix is doing. It offers a number of print sizes (not just for the 4x4ers), but also pictures infused directly on scratch-resistant aluminum plates. I tested it out and was pretty stoked on the results. Next up? Photos from the craziest nights I can or can’t remember.

Our friends at Scoutmob run what I think is one of the best deals sites out there in a market as crowded as a Radiohead show. Not only are there some sweet deals to places I’ve been jonesing to try, but its focus is on the smaller businesses that treat their customers like a first date they want to impress. Scoutmob’s site and app design is fresh and their emails also clue you in to some happenin’ events in your city each week. For the holidays, Scoutmob is asking us to make a pledge (that part’s free) to support our indie retailers and restaurants taking risks to do what they love. BFF stands for Baseball Friends Forever

It’s not baseball season anymore, but I’m still not sure how the Baseball Friends web series isn’t more popular. This short showcasing the sensitive side of old Mets teammates David Wright and Jose Reyes is too funny. “Nooooo. Not all the games.”
