Was your holiday party this awesome?

How was your office holiday party? Do you even remember it? However boring or embarrassing it was, it’d be hard to top what’s going on in this online holiday card by Bruton Stroube Studios. Just scroll to the right and watch as things get more and more ridiculous. Thanks to my pal Billy for the tip!

Holiday Matinee’s December Mixtape!

As we creep towards 2012, we thought we’d pepper this month’s mixtape with some holiday laughs and a seasonable tune. But should this not be the most wonderful time of the year for you (I won’t play Andy Williams), we’ve got Tennis, That Work, new Joel P West and more. Bye, we’ll see you next year (thanks for the link Jules).

Honor thy best shots

Instagram has become my favorite social network because it feels light, yet delivers a richness (and radness) that makes sharing worthwhile. And although those photos look pretty on a hi-res screen, I’m still a believer that our best shots deserve a more permanent existence in the form of print. There’s more than one iPhone to print app out there, but I like what PostalPix is doing. It offers a number of print sizes (not just for the 4x4ers), but also pictures infused directly on scratch-resistant aluminum plates. I tested it out and was pretty stoked on the results. Next up? Photos from the craziest nights I can or can’t remember.

Get curiously indie

Our friends at Scoutmob run what I think is one of the best deals sites out there in a market as crowded as a Radiohead show. Not only are there some sweet deals to places I’ve been jonesing to try, but its focus is on the smaller businesses that treat their customers like a first date they want to impress. Scoutmob’s site and app design is fresh and their emails also clue you in to some happenin’ events in your city each week. For the holidays, Scoutmob is asking us to make a pledge (that part’s free) to support our indie retailers and restaurants taking risks to do what they love. Three winners will get hooked up with $200 to spend on Etsy.

BFF stands for Baseball Friends Forever

It’s not baseball season anymore, but I’m still not sure how the Baseball Friends web series isn’t more popular. This short showcasing the sensitive side of old Mets teammates David Wright and Jose Reyes is too funny. “Nooooo. Not all the games.”

For the eco-friendly music lover

Portable music for small groups can be a hassle. Sure, there are any number of docks these days but many of them require batteries or put a big-time drain on your device. Plus, sometimes it makes an outing a little more high-tech than it needs to be. I’ve known about the iBamboo speaker for a few months and anxiously awaited it’s release (it’s finally out today), but if you haven’t heard, it’s an eco-conscious speaker for the iPhone 4/4S made entirely of bamboo. I can’t say this is going to be audiophile quality, but for $25 it’s worth a shot and might be just the thing for some tunes at a picnic, campsite or bonfire.

I don’t even think I need to try this on

Whoa! I sure didn’t need to spend much time on the Aviator Nation website before being entranced by their hoodies. Everyone knows great marketing is not just the product, but how you tell the story and let’s just say these guys have sold me with their lifestyle photography that makes me miss my Southern California days. I’m normally someone that enjoys dark tones, but am straight up loving the colors in these. The only thing holding me back is the hefty price tag, but sometimes you just have to say screw it and pick up the things you like. That or just enter their giveaways.
