Seriously, I mean it, if this video doesn’t make you smile then we shouldn’t be friends. In a strange way, watching this video makes me feel alive and grounded and incredibly excited about the contributions I make on this planet. It’s also a good reminder that such a simple project can produce an enormously profound effect. Here’s to those who continue to believe and contribute to the little things in life. It’s hard not to love this quote by Conan O’Brien. In all honesty, I haven’t tuned in to his show much but the sentiment still rings true. Every day I wake up and try and give it my all while staying positive and upbeat. Sure, there are some tough days where you need a pick-me-up but most days I just want to hi-five a total stranger. Others, I want to work until the sun comes up. Amazing things do happen in this world of ours and this is certainly a great formula to follow.

The iPhone is supposed to be your gateway to the outside world and make just about anything possible, but it can have some nasty side effects if you’re not careful. The Truth Hurts wallpaper series by Nico Ordozgoiti makes me both laugh and cringe so perhaps that’s what makes it so good.

I’m certain I’d be a fan of our buddy Charles Bergquist’s work even if I didn’t know the guy, but since I do, I can tell you the director, designer and photographer’s work is something to be admired. His 2011 High Speed Reel was just an experimental/fun project over the summer, but as I’ve come to expect, anything he touches ends up looking amazing. In case you’re wondering about the tools behind this, it was shot using the Olympus iSpeed 3 from Jordy.com.

NYU student project lets you donate money remaining on your NYC subway card to charity.

Every year, millions of dollars worth of value on MTA MetroCards are lost or discarded. However, a student project at NYU called MetroChange takes this value and puts it to good use. The concept is simple: swipe your MetroCard at a MetroChange kiosk and the value on the card is transferred to a central fund. This fund is then donated to a charity once per month while the physical card is taken for recycling. As a daily subway rider and proponent of social good, I am totally in favor of this. Well done, guys!

Since then, the man behind the voicemail machine has been working diligently to produce an album called “The Listener,” a compilation of voicemails from strangers around the world brought together by the uniting force of music.
