Thanks for nothing

Brooklyn designer Melissa Deckert’s take on the standard plastic bag made me smile. I picture businesses reserving them for their most obnoxious customers, who carry the bag around all day before realizing they’ve been punk’d. It’s a great reminder that if you’re always getting bad service, your attitude and actions are probably a big reason why. [via Ello]

Fat Tony just made a compelling case for fast food

Big fast food chains have taken a beating the last 15 years as “wellness” has become a bajillion dollar industry. That’s why it’s kind of nice to see rapper Fat Tony paying homage to that feeling when you’re drunk, everything’s closed, but you got to get that 4th meal in. This track is damn catchy too.

I wish Mike was my Frampa

Nice job by FRAM and creative agency Laughlin Constable to build on their name and get Jonathan Banks (of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) for this Frampa ad campaign. I love how he uses the no-nonsense grandfatherly temperament of Mike Ehrmantraut to stick it to the younger generation, even if I fall into that category myself.

This weekend, hug it out

Pretty funny awkward PSA here about the benefits of hugging from Andrew Garfield and Jo Hart. They went ham on a 90s low-production feel and it’s pretty cool that this was actually done for Youth Mentoring, an organization that helps at-risk youth in LA and is encouraging both donations and uploads of 20 second hugs through the end of the year. Never forget the power of humor, even for social good.

It doesn’t need more cowbell

With multiple keytars, cowbells, and all white getup reminiscent of some cult, you can bet my heart is on fire. Here’s to Gary Wright, Friday, and all things ridiculous.
