Five Minutes With Kumar is a web-series about my good friend Kumar Pallana. You might recognize Kumar from Wes Anderson movies such as Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums or Darjeeling Limited. Aside from sharing a dressing room with Sammy Davis Jr and walking with Gandhi, he’s also shared the screen with Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta Jones in Steven Spielberg’s “The Terminal.” But few people know the Kumar that I’ve come to know and love. His back-story is equal parts compelling and inspiring. And after years of having this project held up, it’s with great pleasure I introduce you to a man that’s warmed the hearts of many. Each Tuesday for the next four weeks, Holiday Matinee will premiere a new episode, so sit back and enjoy Mr. Littlejeans’s gospel. In the meantime, check out the trailer and production photos.

Wow, I’m so impressed by this short film, shot and edited entirely on the iPhone 4 and using the iMovie App. Did I mention they did it in 48 hours? Brilliant. As if you needed any more reasons to upgrade. Thanks to Jason for the tip.

I’m so psyched to see this film. It’s called Press Pause Play and it’s all about the changing creative landscape. The learn by doing mentality, collaboration over hierarchy, digital over analog… the film interviews an enormous spectrum of creative visionaries and I, for one, am totally inspired. By far, Mad Men is the best show on television that’s not HBO. I cannot wait for this new season. And to think I was just about to cancel cable. Damn you Don Draper!

These unconventional musical instrument cases are apart of a truly unique campaign for Saxsofunny, a sound production company in São Paulo. The cases hold pen drives containing the company’s most recent reel and they were sent to key people in radio and television departments. The big idea behind it is that the company can play any sound the target client might need. If I could own one of these, I’d pick the one that looks kind of like a missile. I don’t know if it’d be a good idea to carry it around the airport, though. (via Inspire Me Now)
