My rundown of the San Diego Auto Show

I think I was six when I last went to a car show. Twenty-seven years later, I had my press pass and ready to see what a devastated auto-industry was going to throw at us next. One would think eco-friendly cars and innovative technology. WRONG. The San Diego Auto Show was about as depressing as what I would imagine the Republican National Convention to be. The crowd looked no different than at a swap meet or gun show. I was really really confused. Most cars had an average MPG of 17 and there was even a performance sticker in the window showing how poor the vehicle was for the environment. WTF? But what’s worse, the crowd didn’t seem to mind. Even the much hyped Tesla was a  major dissapointment.  Apparently they’ve  partnered with with Denny’s and McDonalds to offer charging stations. Really? Somehow, I don’t see a person dropping $120,000 on an electric car as the same guy who tears through Grand Slams at 3AM. Remind me never to go to another car show, unless I’m six.
