HOLIDAY MATINEE IS A CREATIVE INSPIRATION COMPANY.
We obsess over the people, projects, and ideas that inspire us. And we like to share them with you online, in books, on mixtapes, on apparel, and at events.
Work hard. Care hard. This is our motto.
WHY THE NAME HOLIDAY MATINEE?
Like most kids raised Jewish, there was no single day filled with more boredom than Christmas. While friends were opening presents, I ate Chinese food and played cards with my family. During high school, I started taking my grandmother to see a matinee during Christmas. It was typically an over-the-top blockbuster, but it was fun and has become a tradition ever since.
It was the winter of 1999 while listening to The Beach Boys’, “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” that Dave Brown founded Holiday Matinee. He had thirty bucks, a landline, and a shit-ton of motivation to get talented people the attention they deserve.
Over the past two decades, we’ve had the pleasure of working with great artists, brands, and companies on PR, branding, design, marketing, copywriting, and more. Our clients have included Jimmy Eat World, Death Cab For Cutie, Bright Eyes, Microsoft, Starbucks, Delta, Ford, MTV, W Hotel, Airbnb, IDEO, and dozens more.
